If you have had children in school during the past decade, chances are you’re familiar with the concept of S.T.E.M. – Science, technology, engineering, and math. In recent years art has been added to create S.T.E.A.M. Last school year, the Laurens County Public Library’s Youth Services department prepared S.T.E.A.M. programs ahead of this year’s Summer Reading theme of “A Universe of Stories.” These programs were so popular, the Youth Services department wants to continue offering innovative S.T.E.A.M. programming for all ages.

On Tuesday, December 10 at Laurens Public Library at 6pm and Tuesday, December 17 at Clinton Public Library at 6pm, the Youth Services department will host “S.T.E.A.M. for the Holidays.” This program features 3D pen fun, lego design, robot car programming as well as holidays decorations with a S.T.E.A.M. twist. And, of course, there will be hot chocolate!

The Laurens County Library Youth Services is happy to offer a welcoming environment for children and their families. The library has resources on parenting for parents as well as grandparents who are raising grandchildren. For information on Youth Services programming, patrons may call the Laurens Public Library at 864-681-7323 or visit our website at https://www.lcpl.org/library-services/youth-services.
